Sartosan Vault

Sartosan Vault is an unusual location in Total War: Warhammer III. It lowers local control, slashes trade tariff income, and boosts post-battle loot, but every few turns it can also pay out a fresh haul, at the risk of offending a randomly selected race.

Sartosan Vault
Pirate Loot Stash
A natural chasm deep in the coastal bedrock, which pirates have adapted into a near-impenetrable hideaway for their ill-got gains, and known to all as the Sartosan Vault.

Event: A Share of the Loot

Once the Sartosan Vault is discovered, there is a 10% chance each turn, starting 3 turns after discovery, to trigger the “A Share of the Loot” event, which grants a random amount of loot. Eight turns after it fires, the event can trigger again and repeat indefinitely.

A Share of the Loot

From beneath a sea-bitten tricorn nested in a matted snarl of hair, the shifty gaze of this hirsute vagabond probes for any sign of gullibility as he spins his captivating yarn.\n\nHis proposition, when it comes, is a simple one. He has heard of your ‘vault’ and requires a discreet place to store his recent acquisitions. He gestures to the gem-studded casing of his ill-got gains, offering a hefty sum for your trouble. But as he speaks, you cannot help but wonder: is the true price the gold he offers, or the inevitable wrath of whomever owned this treasure first?

  • Treasury: +Random amount
  • Stolen Loot

The payout is random. There is a 10% chance for an “Extra luck!” outcome, which adds an additional 6000 to the loot and sets the negative effect duration to 7 turns. Otherwise, only an additional 2000 is added to the loot and the negative effects duration is set to 4 turns.

A random race is chosen for the “Stolen Loot” penalty, reducing diplomatic relations with all factions of that race.

Stolen Loot

These people are well aware of your dealings with the pirates, and are obviously not happy about it.

  • Diplomatic relations: -100 with all Random race factions
